Alcohol and illicit drug use in pregnancy

Alcohol and illicit drugs are best to be avoided in pregnancy.

It is not known in pregnancy if any amount of alcohol is safe.

Illicit drugs will cross the placenta to the baby and will have effects on the developing baby.
