Inpatient and outpatient service for mothers with a moderate to severe degree of mental or suspected mental illness.
Referral acceptance in second trimester for baby up to12 months of age.
Follow up to infant 12- 15 months of age. |

Types of Service: |
Assessment and comprehensive range of treatments offered. Also offers education, liaison and support, teleconferencing and visits to all South Island District Health Boards. |

Referral Process: |
Referrals are accepted via: Outpatients, primary care mental health – GP where possible. Christchurch Women’s Hospital. Some Plunket referrals via Postnatal Adjustment Programme. |

Demand on the outpatient service is beyond the staffing capacity hence significant waiting list |
