Service Focus:

Early detection, identification and intervention of emotional and psychosocial difficulties in the perinatal period up to two years. Also see women who had a traumatic birth and those who have lost a baby. Also provide a consultation liaison role and assistance to colleagues in AMHS for clients with a serious mental health disorder that become pregnant.

Types of Service:

Assessment, liaison and some treatment

Referral Process:

Referrals mainly come from midwives and Plunket nurses, then GPs and other health professionals.
Referrals do not come directly to our service through a one point of entry. They are triaged by the Service Coordinator and put through via an allocation meeting.
